Deposits / Waiting List

We have puppies available!

I do require a phone interview before accepting any deposits.    I reserve the right to refuse any sale if I believe it is not in the best interest of one of our puppies.

A $200 deposit will reserve your position on our exclusive waiting list.  Being on our exclusive waiting list has it's benefits.  Enjoy the ability to choose your puppy before they are made available to the general public.  That in itself is the major benefit.  You will be first to pick your puppy.  Deposits are non-refundable, but they do not expire. You will remain on the waiting list until you choose your puppy.

Expenses of Breeding

There's a lot more that goes into breeding than people think.  It takes alot of money to properly maintain adults and keep puppies healthy.  Not to mention the time involved.  Sleepless nights waiting for puppies to arrive (Shih Tzu need assistance delivering puppies).  Waking every couple hours to feed newborns that need extra assistance (typically my litter size is 2-3 puppies).  Never getting to go on family vacations because someone needs to be with the dogs/puppies.  Never leaving the home for more than a few hours at a time.  It's a huge responsibility and you really need to have the love and passion to do it properly.
Here's a list of some of the expenses involved.

  • Purchasing a female with full breeding rights.   $3500-5000.
  • You'll have all the expenses or raising that puppy for the next 1 1/2 years before she'll be ready to breed.  Then all the health testing and vet checks to make sure she can and should be breed.  $1000-2000
  • Stud Dog.  $3000-5000
  • Stud Service if you don't own the dog   $2000-2500 per litter
  • Planned C-Section $3500-4500
  • Emergency C-Section  $4000-8000
  • Puppy health checks at vet $100-500
  • 1st shots and deworming  $100-300
  • Food.  A pregnant female needs up to four times what she normally eats, and a nursing female will also need a lot of extra food.  Puppies also eat/waste a lot more food than what you think.
  • lots and lots of extra laundry
  • Litter Vet Checks  $200-500
  • Sick puppy vet visit  $100-1000
  • Potty pads and litter per litter $200-300
  • litter box and litter per litter $100-200
  • Feeding a high quality dog food (we use Royal Canin Motherdog for our new mothers and Royal Canin Small Breed puppy for the puppies) $200-400 per litter
  • Heat.  Puppies need to stay very warm for the first month.  Our bedroom we have new puppies in stays at 80 degrees which ups the power bill quite a bit
  • Showing. It usually takes around $3000-10,000 to optain a Championship on a single dog.  (With having 3 young children I'm not showing at this time)
  • So many more expenses.....I could go on and on........
  • Time.  We spend several hours a day cleaning, feeding, grooming and socializing the dogs/puppies.  All the adult dogs get weekly bathes and monthly full groooming.  Puppies start their first bath at 6 weeks and every week after.

Breeding is not for the faint of heart.  It is financially, emotionally and physically demanding.  Why do I still choose to breed?  Because I love the breed and enjoy seeing how happy I make families that get one of my babies!!!!

How our dogs are raised

This is our nursery room....it's a room right off of our bedroom.  This is where the puppies spend their first 3-4 weeks.  It's kept at 80 degrees.

At 3-4 weeks old they are then moved into the open puppy pens where they start to learn to either use the litterbox or porry pads.  As the puppies get older the pen gets bigger and bigger.

They have lots of room to run and plenty of toys to play with.  They have access to dry food at all times and twice a day I make them their stew.....which consists of soaing dry food in hot water and some canned food.  They have water bottles to drink from so they don't make a huge mess.

In our home the dogs have their own bedroom.  It has two doggy doors that goes out into two exercise/potty yards.  The adults sleep in here and are in here when we leave the house.  Their is also my grooming area in there.

There is also a doggy door of the laundry room in our kitchen so they can go out a and go potty when we are home.

Sunbathing in the big yard.
